PMAC is pleased to announce that effective immediately it is able to offer IPMA certifications in Canada at all four competency levels.
At our 2009 Annual General Meeting, IPMA presented accreditations to five of our members who have been accepted as First Assessors -- those whom IPMA has approved as qualified to perform IPMA competency assessments at all four levels (A through D). Two of the First Assessors, Kevin Aguanno and Alex Jalalian, have been assessors for other IPMA member associations and have performed assessments in the past, so are already fully trained on IPMA procedures. The remaining three First Assessors will be trained by a First Foreign Assessor who has been assigned by the IPMA Certification Validation Management Board (CVMB). His name is Werner Schmehr, and he is a member of the CVMB and also the Managing Director of German certification body.
While we are waiting for the rest of the First Assessors have been trained, Kevin Aguanno and Alex Jalalian are ready to provide assessments for candidates. If you are interested in IPMA competence certification, please contact the PMAC Certification Body Operating Committee (certification@pmac-ampc.ca.
Finally, we would like to announce that our first IPMA Level-D candidate was certified on 5 December, 2009. Future IPMA Level-D certification exams are scheduled across Canada throughout 2010. An exam schedule can be found near the bottom of our competency certification page.

Capital Project Cost Control
by Morley Selver
Project cost control is a very important topic — even more important when the project budgets can often stretch into the hundreds of millions (even billions) of dollars and small mistakes can get magnified into huge problems. This DVD is a live recording of a webinar by Morley Selver, known as "The Project Doctor," who has over 30 years of real-world plant project engineering experience.
Selver has donated all author royalties from the sale of this DVD to the PMAC.
